Symmetry’s 10th release – Break – They’re Wrong // Xtrah – Cyrax
Following the label’s 9th release in December, Break kicks off 2012 for Symmetry Recordings with ‘They’re Wrong’. Taking us back to his love of jazz and funk with its gripping melodic intro, the track continues to build with soulful guitar melodies reminiscent of atmospheric 80’s blues rock.
With little other warning than an intimate reggae-sourced vocal sample, Break captures us with ‘They’re Wrong’s’ funk-influenced bassline, complemented by the classic Break percussion, and as always he keeps you locked in as the track rolls through with sublime production.
Rising star Yasin Elgohary aka Xtrah carries on showing his skills in the studio with a great AA side ‘Cyrax’. Taking on more of a dance floor vibe, the track hits an unsuspecting listener with weighty, resolute bass and great step out drums. A superb heavy hitter from a name who is definitely one to watch in 2012.
